Our last Crossing of Lake Zurich for Gays and Lesbians was held on July August 26th, 2003. It was a huge success.

Now we are proud to announce that the swimmers from Gay Sport Zurich are planning the 8th Crossing of Lake Zurich. The event is taking place on 30th July 2005.

Have you been here and swum across the Lake? Then you know what a great experience it is to have succeeded...if not...come and try it!

The distance to be swum is approx. 1800 meters. The time limit is 1 hour.

The start will be at Strandbad Wollishofen at 10.00am and the finish line is at Strandbad Tiefenbrunnen.
     

Schedule of Event

Friday 29th July 2005

·       Registration from 19.00h till 21.00h
     (Café Marion, Mühlegasse 22)

·        Meetingpoint for Hosted Housing

Saturday 30th July 2005

·        Crossing of Lake Zurich from Strandbad Wollishofen to Strandbad Tiefenbrunnen. Start approx.10.00h. Please be at the Strandbad Wollishofen between 09.15h and 09.30h.

·        After the last swimmer has reached the finishing line, Brunch will be served at the Open-Air Café Tiefenbrunnen, the winners will be announced and the presentation ceremony will take place during the brunch.

·        The afternoon will be in the awe of  the Beach Party „Follies au Lac“ also at the Strandbad Tiefenbrunnen. This extravagance will be orchestrated by the ANGELS, one of the leading Party Organisers here in Zurich.

    
     

General Information 

·         Age Groups:

Group A      upto 20 Years
Group B      21 – 30 Years
Group C      31 – 40 Years
Group D      41 Years and older

Classification will be for Girls and Boys separately (No exceptions!)

·        Should the water temperature be below 21°C or weather
conditions not be suitable for swimming across the Lake, we will have to cancel the swim.

·       Fees: SFr. 45.00 includes entries to Lake Pools, Brunch and the Beach Party.
Fees to be paid at Registration 29th July, 2005

·       Swimmers will be accompanied by Life Guard Boats from start to finish.

·         Insurance is upto the competitors!

·         Registration closes 25rd July, 2005
